Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, unites world-class art with the beauty of nature. Founded by Alice Walton and opened on 11/11/11, the Moshe Safdie–designed museum features galleries, trails, and spring-fed ponds, with free admission for all. Each year, more than 50,000 students visit through free educational programs, while initiatives like The Momentary and Remuseum expand its reach into contemporary art and museum innovation. Challenge

The Crystal Bridges Museum marketing team sought to find a new digital agency partner that is more responsive and nimble to support their year round exhibits while delivering performance marketing strategies to drive new attendance to the museum grounds. They needed a hands-on strategic partner who could support experimentation and launch campaigns rapidly without requiring redundant meetings.

While Crystal Bridges’ had built a powerful and recognizable destination for the arts, their ability to launch campaigns on time and test creative rapidly in ads was slow – they needed a partner who can be responsive and launch campaigns quickly (sometimes within 24 hours).

By stripping away the typical corporate bottlenecks, we moved toward a “go-to-market” model that allowed us to launch complex, multi-channel campaigns in under 24 hours. But speed was only half the battle. We also rebuilt the museum’s tracking and attribution from the ground up—not just to count clicks, but to understand what stories were actually resonating with people.

    Crystal Bridges hosts multiple exclusive exhibits, performances, and events all year round. Because of their commitment to make art accessible to everyone, their calendar is packed with events – making it challenging to launch campaigns on time for many events. Full Moon developed a process to streamline the process of launching campaigns for each event – using project management software Monday.com, we organized the flow of information for every event, managed assets into folders, and made sure teams are notified of feedback and due dates.
  • Custom Event Tracking of Special Exhibits:
    Full Moon improved custom event tracking for the museum enabling Crystal Bridges to improve campaign attribution to ticket sales and museum attendance. Through Full Moon’s analytics team, Crystal Bridges gained better insights into campaign effectiveness and creative performance. Better tracking also allowed Full Moon to make more informed budget allocation across advertising channels – Google Ads, Meta Ads, Audio Ads, and Video Ads.
  • Maximize Google Ads Grant campaign:
    Full Moon’s experience with Google Ads Grant helped Crystal Bridges maximize $10,000 in-kind spend every month. We utilize several bid adjustments to achieve 15% CTR (3 times higher than benchmark) and CPC that exceeded the limitations of $2 to compete with the larger NGOs.
