Blogging is Not For Everyone-But You Can Succeed

Blogging is not for everyone. It takes time and a lot of effort but it is a lot of fun, hard work. Blogging basics are easy to to find online with a quick google search but we are going to dive a little bit deeper into it than most. It takes creativity, content creation and research, SEO, stamina, captivating imagery, and a platform to promote on. Let’s dive in.

What is blogging and why is it not for everyone?

Blogging is nothing more than writing about an event, or something that interests you in a blog on the internet. It takes a lot of thought and work to do. It is not as simple as writing a blog post and people will see it on top of a Google search. 

Hundreds of millions of blogs exist online, and only a small fraction of them will ever be seen on a Google search’s first page or so. That may be the goal of all bloggers, but only some of them will ever achieve that goal. 

Blogging requires an incredible amount of work and stamina. It is not for everyone. 

Creativity is just the start of blogging

Content creation isn’t just creating content. You need to create something people will want to read or listen to or look at. In order to do that you need to have at least one creative bone in his body. Not everyone has that. If money is your goal, there are faster ways to do that. 

Content Creation takes time

Content creation is about way more than just writing, drawing, or saying something and hitting post. Researching topics can take hours, and that is after possibly hours to come up with your topic in the first place.

Then you actually have to do the writing. But that’s not all- you have to write it keeping SEO in (search engine optimization) in mind too. You’ll be creating so much content your head will spin. You will be creating new content constantly. 

This could be writing, podcasting, creating images/illustrations, anything, so make sure you really enjoy it!

SEO is necessary

SEO stands for search engine optimization. It is a digital marketing technique focused on your website’s digital presence on a search engine. Basically, it focuses on your place on a search engine like Google. This is necessary if you want people to see your page.

Captivating imagery and illustrations help

Illustrations or images help get people to pay more attention to your posts. By wrapping someone up in captivating imagery, you are more likely for them to read your whole blog post. 

Just be careful of copywrite laws and things like that when picking photos to use. 

You’ll need a platform (or five) to share it on as well

What is the point of writing a blog post if no one ever gets to see it? Rhetorical question- there is no point. Using your personal social media accounts to share your blog posts will help. Creating a Facebook business page will also help you reach more viewers too. 

Use social media to your advantage: Tik Tok, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, all are great for marketing your blog. Marketing is your best friend now, do it well. 

Blogging isn’t for everyone because of stamina

Stamina is the number one reason why so many blogs fail and are never seen by the public. You have to create new content constantly, while keeping SEO in mind, in order to have your blog seen by the masses. 

It can take 18-39 months to make decent money on your blog on average. Many people get discouraged after just a few weeks of blogging. If you earn any money in the first 6-12 months though, you are doing really well. 

Blogging isn’t for everyone, but is it for you?

Blogging takes stamina, content creation, creativity, a platform, and a basic working knowledge of SEO to succeed. If you can do all of the above week in and week out, maybe blogging is for you.
