5 Ways to Tell Your Team is Falling Apart

Is your team experiencing lower productivity? Low morale? Is your team falling apart? It happens to many teams all across every industry.

If you want to succeed in business, you need your team behind you to be strong. Knowing these signs could help save your team.

5 Signs To Look Out For In Your Team

#1. Love is a two-way street

If people look and act unhappy, and aren’t giving their job the same effort they do when they’re acting happy.

“Love your team and they will love you and your company back, it’s that simple” says Nathan Hertzel of Nava Healthcare. When people are happy they will act that way.

#2. Don’t sweat the small stuff

When there is bickering and fighting between your employees, there is a clear problem in your team.

While nobody will ever get along with everyone, as adults we should all be able to be professional at a minimum.

When your team cannot do that, there are deeper problems and you need to get to the bottom of it.

#3. Don’t build your house on straws

Nathan also says that a high turnover rate may be a sign of a team falling apart as well. If there is a shaky foundation, building a house isn’t going to work very well. It works a lot like a house of cards. If you ensure that you are building on a strong foundation, you are more likely to build a stable house.

#4. A team that talks together grows together

A lack of motivation is a clear sign your staff isn’t doing so well. Not wanting to better yourself at a minimum is a sign that you are falling apart.

Too many people with a lack of motivation will cause any team to fall apart. Additionally, a team with a toxic member may also face issues and fall apart due to that one member causing a lack of motivation.

#5. Stay hydrated

When your team stops coming to you with questions and concerns, you should be concerned.

A lack of communication is like starving a plant of water. It can kill a company and work relationships. Open communication is the key to success, especially in a working relationship.

CEO of Fullmoon Digital Marketing Derek Chew says “Nothing is ever always okay. If everything was always okay, there would never be any room for improvement”.

Take your employee’s feedback seriously

Now, as an employer and someone who wants to have a great workplace for all their employees, you must be asking yourself: “how do I keep my team from falling apart?“.

Mr. Hertzel says he keeps his team from falling apart by treating them like family at all times. “I greet them with a big smile and excitement, if they have problems I make sure to stop and talk to them” he said. Treating your employees like family is a fast way to make sure that they appreciate you and your company and are happy about coming to work every day.

Another way you can keep your team from falling apart is by giving your employees the ability to make suggestions and recommendations freely. If they’re wrong or it’s not going to work, explain to them why. Communication is the easiest way to keep everyone on the same page and feeling like a part of the team. The simplest way to keep your team from falling apart though, is to ask them what they need. Being a supportive boss will get your employees to be more productive.
