When people come together to share and connect with a common foundation idea, we often see the formation of a community. Communities can be based off of any concept or idea that interests people to the point where they have some kind of passion that they want to share with others. With the vast presence of technology in today’s world, we have found many ways to connect with others on a daily basis.

Communication has become easier, and the use of technology has become the number one way that we interact with one another. More often than not, we get immersed in technology that we forget to interact with those around us, causing sometimes a negative impact on our communities communication.

There are many ways, including technology that we can connect and interact with our community in order to stay focused on our journey of faith with one another and with the church. Faith is a common foundation that helps to build a strong community, and there are ways to connect with people on a professional and personal level, as well as connecting with new ideas in faith which help to build that community with people.

Ways You Can Connect with Your Community

Digital and social keep the techie people informed about community happenings.
The church’s strong digital and social presence helps those who are immersed in technology to also stay immersed in faith. Being a part of a huge community online by immersing their thoughts and energy into the social media platforms, can help to keep even those who are preoccupied with their technology for the majority of the day to see what is going on in their community around them.

Social media promotes community, those who connect online feel as if they are a part of something that is constantly connected, making them feel more willing to participate in community discussions and activities. The church uses social to inform its community members about events so they can participate in community and faith building.

Whether it’s a community event or a online social discussion that is being promoted, there is always something that will help encourage online followers to be a part in the community and make steps towards bettering their faithful values in a community sleep.

How Mega Churches are inspiring to a new generation of church goers.

Digital world equals the young generation’s go-to community.
For younger generations, the digital world is a community. The church being involved in their community makes it easier to continue to grow with their faith community. For the younger generations, it is common to communicate more often via text or any social media platform that they can easily access from their phone or computer. The church has made it a commonality for the younger generations to see their presence online, and help them to see and follow their messages so that they too can learn and love the journey of their faith. Younger generations often feel more comfortable when they are able to discuss their opinion online, starting discussions online can help community building for those who are shy to speak up in larger crowds.

Activity Attendance is a must when connecting through community.
Attending activities to get involved in your community, whether its attending church or attending the community basketball game will help you to get out there and connect with others under a common activity or hobby. This can help to grow community and make it easier to spread the message of faith, because people who attend events already have a common liking for one activity, making it easier to discuss other commonalities that they have. It can also make it easier for those who don’t like to start conversations as much, easier since they can start by talking about the event, the game or whatever it is that they are doing. People who participate in different communities have the opportunity to invite others into their faith community, and give them the ability to share with others why it is such a great community to be involved in.

Intermixing communities makes for an ever growing, larger community.
Sharing one communities ideas with another community that you are also involved with, i.e. when you go to your weekly basketball game you can invite someone to your churches BBQ they are throwing on Sunday.

The chain of community events that can help them to create a bigger sense of community driven around the church can be attributed to those who have a passion for faith sharing it with those around them their love and passion for their faith following. People we interact with on a daily basis outside of the church community may not have the knowledge of the church community in their area, which is why sharing the opportunity for them to see what the church communities events are like is beneficial in helping them start on their journey to faith. When love and faith are shared, the church community becomes a constant growing communal journey.

Including professionalism and careers help community building across the board.
A major common platform is the careers that people bring to the table when they integrate themselves into various communities. Each career and lifestyle has a different perspective on a situation, and when there is a diverse amount of people who join the community bringing with them different backgrounds, it helps the community to grow and prosper in their ideas and knowledge. Different job professions bring different perspectives to the table, this is knowledgeable perspective that can help provoke conversations and open up more opportunities to look at situations that arise in a different light.

Connecting through your community to share faith and knowledge and learn with others is something that is beneficial in helping your community grow as a whole. There are many ways as discussed including connecting through social media to reach the younger generations and those who are more shy and less likely to start a conversation in person. Bringing different groups together with diverse backgrounds in both professional and leisure can help to provoke conversation and community building that may not happen if everyone does the same thing and thinks in similar ways due to their background and experience.
