Homeless Health Care LA And 200K Reasons Why They Are So Important

Founded in 1985 in Los Angeles, Homeless Health Care LA is known as a group dedicated to helping LA’s most vulnerable residents.

In LA County in 2018, there were over 52,000 homeless people with about 31,000 of them in the city of LA (LA Times). In 2019, those numbers changed to almost 59,000 and 36,000.

According to the same paper, another nonprofit estimated that over 100,000 people had become homeless over that year. The west coast of the USA is well known for its homeless populations. With such a high population of homeless people, it is necessary to have nonprofits and charities around to assist them.

Homeless Health Care LA (HHCLA) has assisted over 200,000 homeless families and individuals in the area turn their lives around. Through resources such as housing, mental health care, and substance abuse counseling they help these people find a new life that doesn’t involve living on the streets.

Getting them off drugs will make their population healthier and stable, allowing them to become a stable part of society. This also helps everyone else, by them having a place to live and perform hygiene regularly we can avoid the spreading of diseases and lower crime.

How Does This Help You?

The threat of COVID-19 is on our doorstep, and that means the homeless and destitute are more likely to catch it. While washing our hands and staying home sounds easy, it is not for everyone. Sleeping in a car or under a bridge makes a lot of things impossible for a person.

This means they cannot follow two of the CDCs biggest recommendations in situations like this. HHCLA is on the front lines of protecting our homeless citizens, and the general population as well.

By helping these people find places to live they are actively saving lives since the homeless are much more likely to be disabled or have a weakened immune system. HHCLA is at the forefront of many battles.

Anyone can become homeless at any time for any reason. It’s imperative that we help our most unlucky and destitute citizens; not just because anyone could all land on hard times, but because its good for the health of the general public.

We love nonprofits like Homeless Health Care LA

Trying to get through the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020 means all of us need to help each other. There are many populations that are at a major disadvantage right now. Among those populations: the black and latino communities, homeless folk, undocumented immigrants, and more. No people are more interested in helping the under-served communities more than those involved in nonprofits.

Many of these people are on the front line of the COVID-19, whether it is because they’re unable to quarantine for lack of a home or need for income. Some are on the front lines fighting to help these people. There are few things kinder than that, rivaled by the kindness people show by staying home right now.

So if you are a nonprofit out there in this fight

Please send an email to hello@fullmoondigital.com or shannon@fullmoondigital.com. We would love to partner with nonprofits that we vibe with and help them through not only the virus but whatever the future brings. By working diligently on your digital marketing strategy to make sure you reach as many viewers and donors as possible, we want to see your nonprofit grow and succeed despite the harsh environment right now.

Together we can not only build a brighter future for everyone.

Thank you, Homeless Health Care LA.

Thank you to our front-line workers all over the world. We are grateful.
